OUR RATING
uShaka Wet n’ Wild is one of the key attractions within the larger uShaka Marine World complex situated on uShaka beach in Durban. uShaka Wet n’ Wild offers various water slides (speed slides, multi-lane slides and tube slides), with pools and other aquatic attractions for visitors to enjoy. This is one of the most loved water parks in South Africa and one of the top Durban attractions.
The park boasts a wide array of water slides and rides catering to all ages and thrill levels. From the 5 way tube racing slide to the Torpedo drop. There is something for everyone.
We personally love the double tube rider slide which lazily winds its way down to the Msunduzi river. This beautiful waterway meanders its way through the park adding a sense of tranquility and peace. However If you’re also an adrenaline lover like us then the Black Mamba hits the spot. It’s a totally WILD buzz. There are over 7 super crazy rides here. All of them are fantastic fun!
If you’re with family there are designated areas specifically designed for younger children. These feature shallower pools, miniature slides, the lazy river splash pool which include swim aids and inflatables for a fun filled kiddie adventure. Shaka Wet n’ Wild has trained lifeguards stationed at each attraction who maintain constant watch to ensure everyone’s safety.
There are various food outlets and kiosks scattered throughout the park, offering a range of snacks, meals and refreshments to you throughout the day. We recommend eating at the Cargo Hold restaurant onsite. The aquarium glass wall means you eat up and close with the fish. It’s so fascinating.
There are secure lockers which are available at a reasonable price meaning you can leave the park and walk a few minutes to a nice café for lunch. Check out the list of our recommended eateries in our Restaurant section.
One word of advice from us. Buy tickets ahead of time or get there early on weekends. It’s really popular and the queues can get long at these times.
So our final thoughts? uShaka Wet n’ Wild provides a fun filled aquatic experience for families, thrill-seekers plus anyone else looking to cool off and have a blast in Durban’s warm climate.
