Times Square Durban is a true cosmopolitan venue, offering a relaxing lounge area as well as a beautiful upper bar deck. They are famous for their great selection of wine, cocktails and craft beers. The atmosphere is electric and the place is usually packed to the rafters. It’s full of Durbanites tucking into their wonderful food, or in the bar enjoying the cool Durban Vibe and listening to Ebony Modex and the amazing music they make that fuels it. This is one of the top party spots on Florida Road in Durban and we love the eclectic vibe so much. A well deserved  member of the best restaurants in Durban. It’s where we start a great night out and where we end up at the end.

They have a broad menu with perfectly grilled steaks, seafood, pasta, burgers and more! The service is quick and extremely focussed with a passionate desire to make your dining experience truly memorable.

We regularly go there for one of the scrummy breakfasts that they serve from 07:30 onwards every day.  We recommend the Times Square Special Breakfast, with flavorful  locally sourced lamb or pork sausages, eggs, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. For us, it’s a great way to start the day. For something lighter the Salmon and served with farm fresh Scrambled Eggs hits the spot. All served with their wonderful Barista style coffee to make the perfect start to our mornings. 

Lunch times are busy and we normally grab a quick bite like their Pulled Pork burger or the grilled Kingklip,caught fresh from the Indian Ocean that morning, and served in their zesty Lime White Wine sauce. It’s a beautiful combination and well worth trying.

If you plan to stay a little longer then grab one of their amazing starters. The Mussel bowl with its Lemon and Herb sauce is a great choice or the Prawn Tempura which sings with the freshness of the prawns, from sea to table in hours.

For the main course we normally go for the Seafood Pasta, the succulent scallops and calamari are delicately cooked to perfection and covered in well aged parmesan. If you’re in a group then the Seafood  Boil hits the spot. Cooked in their signature Cajun sauce you can expect to find succulent crabs, prawns, calamari, mussels and fresh harvested local vegetables blended into the most fantastic result. Great for groups of up to 8 or more. If you enjoy chilling with friends like we do, then this is a great choice.

From the grill their rib eye steak melts in your mouth with each bite. We love the perfect balance of fat and seasoning, delivering a gratifying culinary experience. This is such a terrific dish and worth going there for this alone. We also recommend their pizzas and the Filet Americain. Everything is good here.

There’s always a waiter checking on you regularly, making sure everything is okay. We love the service and who doesn’t like being pampered? They have plenty of large TV screens so we don’t have to miss out on sports. Being big rugby fans, you’ll find us here on most match days. The atmosphere is terrific and they have great range in the bar to toast the win or drown our sorrows. 

They have an extensive selection of craft beers and they have tasters for those who are not sure of what they want. The drinks are poured generously and the cocktails especially (Margarita) sure know how to get the party started. While sipping our drinks we sometimes get to listen to live performances. Check them out if you have time. It’s a vibing  place and if you’re visiting a Durban attraction nearby, make this a pit stop.

So our final thoughts? Times Square Durban is a hidden gem that brings out the night Durban vibes. The music is always on point and we love the various options in terms of drinks. Make sure you add this to your list of places to rave in while visiting Durban. We know you will love it like we do. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Durban and the music is vibing.
