The Chef’s Table has a robust menu of delicious and visually striking dishes. We recommend you start with the Overnight Beef Tongue, which is slow cooked overnight as the name suggests to the point of melting in your mouth. It’s so tender. Another one of our favorites is the wood-fired octopus in a Korean glaze, which is beautifully cooked and utterly scrumptious. Straight from the ocean and onto the plate. 

For mains, we love the crab curry tortellini, so unusual and a great Fusion Cuisine dish. Another of our favorites is the minimalist midlands ‘bacon chop’ which is cooked with a sherry-and-maple glaze and served with potato mash. Yummy is not the word for this. It’s mind-blowingly good. There’s plenty on the menu to catch your eye and prompt multiple return visits. 

There’s a full vegetarian menu and even a separate menu for vegans. You have absolutely no reason not to try this restaurant out.

Their open plan Kitchen is at the center of the restaurant, not just for the theatre of it but also for the chefs to stay connected to the energy of the diners. Watching the chefs at work you feel their connection to the food and the beautifully plated dishes being prepared. The positioning of the kitchen adds a unique touch. Its a place we hang out at often and if you’re visiting a Durban attraction nearby, it’s a must go see.
