Surf Riders South Beach is situated right on the beachfront, in a perfect location near uShaka Marine World. The restaurant’s decor typically reflects a beachy vibe with casual indoor and outdoor seating offering amazing views of the Indian ocean. It’s a very popular Durban restaurant and well worth a visit.

Their menu always features a variety of fresh seafood options, including shrimp, fish, crab and lobster, prepared in various styles such as grilled, fried or blackened. Additionally they offer non-seafood options like tacos, salads and sandwiches to cater to different tastes. They have a great selection of  burgers and wraps too. Perfectly cooked by Sam and the team then beautifully presented. 

They offer an amazing Turkish breakfast  which is so good and very authentic! This includes poached eggs on a mound of feta-yogurt, sesame spiced Duqqa drizzled with a sublime chili oil, topped off with a soft Garlic Naan large enough to wipe your bowl clean. The breakfast portions are generous, cooked to perfection and served with a dash of style. Try out the strawberry milkshake and the Pina Colada Daiquiri! We totally recommend it.

The dining experience here is truly exceptional but the food is the real star of this restaurant. It captivates your taste buds with its extraordinary flavors and each visit will leave you buzzing with satisfaction. It’s pet friendly and your 4 legged companion is well catered for with complimentary treats and pampering. So bring them along too if you want to. They will be made very welcome and totally spoilt.

Grab a coffee and a satisfying breakfast then perhaps take in a surf lesson if you’re the adventurous type. This is also a great spot to watch people buzzing past in their daily durban life. If you’re up very early then after breakfast you can take a leisurely walk along the beach while you take in the glorious colors of sunrise over the Indian ocean.  Its a breathtaking experience and leaves you with a life long memory of Durban and it’s beauty.

So our final thoughts? The atmosphere at Surf Riders is really relaxed and it’s very family-friendly. This makes it a popular choice for both locals and tourists alike. It’s one of the few restaurants in Durban where you get to listen to the sound of crashing waves while feeling the cool ocean breeze as you eat. All in all, it’s one of the best restaurants in Durban and a place we go back to time and time again. A bastion of the Durban Vibe we love so much and a fun place to chill and relax. It’s one of our favorite places in Durban to hang with friends so perhaps we’ll see you there.
