Lingela Restaurant at Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani is one of the most popular buffet restaurants in Durban. As you step into Lingela restaurant, you’re greeted by an ambience that seamlessly blends elegance with comfort. The decor in this restaurant is rich with everything from ceiling to the walls being intricately designed. The dining space is equipped with huge glass windows that offer a picturesque view of the neighborhood. You often find us sitting there and looking out at the landscape of the beautiful hotel it is hosted within. Its fits well with the Durban Vibe which flows through our wonderful city.

Lingela restaurant has great buffets with lots of choices like carvery, curries, stir fry station, desserts, roasts and fruits. Their menu is extensive and well planned. The buffet is perfectly displayed, and you find yourself drooling and wanting to taste every single thing that is on offer. It’s open in the evenings from 6pm and runs till 11pm, with a Sunday lunch special between 12pm and 3pm, The price is very affordable and if you don’t walk out of there feeling totally full up, we’d be very surprised

You should definitely try the Durban curries. The lamb, chicken and prawn curries are superb in taste and texture, delicately spiced and not fiery hot. All are served with beautiful papadams shaped like cones. You will return time and time again as do we. It’s very addictive for all the right reasons.

The carvery boasts roast leg of Karoo lamb with mint sauce, roast chicken with cranberry sauce as well as roast beef with horseradish. If you’re a seafood lover you are spoiled by the variety like sushi, calamari, prawns and the added bonus of being invited to interact  with the chefs who prepare dishes as per your specifications. You can order anything the way you like it and they will accommodate it with a smile.

The dessert buffet is so colorful and inviting. It offers a selection of tartlets, mousses and sweets, the perfect finish to a sumptuous feast at Lingela Restaurant. 

In addition to its daily dinner offerings and Sunday lunch specials, it may also host special events, themed nights or seasonal menus to keep the dining experience fresh and exciting for returning visitors.
