Their seafood dishes are simply the best. It’s a great Durban restaurant that we go back to time and again. They never fail to deliver the most amazing dining experiences. Since its inception in 2001, it’s been consistently winning awards for great food, breathtaking views and amazing service. Ranking among the top restaurants in Durban year after year.

We recommend that you check out the wide array of seafood dishes that just seem to taste better with a view of the ocean they left only a few hours before. We love the fresh seafood such as Grilled Langoustine with Julienne Vegetables, Their delicate Gin-cured Salmon dotted with dill or Saldanha bay mussels in a flavor-packed sea-salty broth. They are all our personal favorites but feel free to check out everything on the menu. They Never disappoint.

Their main courses feature a good balance of both Surf and Turf dishes. Make sure you try the Crispy Roasted Duck served with local grown glazed carrots and hand picked green beans. The Squid-ink Linguine laced with tomato-and-fennel cream and topped with prawn tails leaves us blown away every time. Check out their market fish. It’s the Catch of the Day, line-caught by local fishermen fresh that morning. Cooked to a deliciously crispiness on the outside with a delicate soft inside. You can see why living in Durban is such a dream lifestyle.

 Of course there are meatier options including lamb shoulder, charcoal roasted pork belly and organic free-range beef. Caution: be prepared to be taken on an excursion of flavors that will blow your taste buds away!

The restaurant also has an extensive wine list concentrating on smaller boutique local vineyards that offer some of South Africa’s finest wines. Every few months, 9th Avenue also hosts a spectacular Wine and Dine event where their meals are paired by their sommelier with leading wine estates from South Africa and Abroad. There’s also a fantastic cocktail bar upstairs where expert mixologists create the ultimate in eye-catching cocktails. A perfect place for watching the breathtaking Durban sunset as it spreads its myriad of colors over the city.

In addition to dining options, 9th Avenue waterside also provides opportunities for recreational activities and relaxation nearby. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the promenade, soaking in the coastal ambience and enjoying the refreshing sea breeze.
